Governor Du Jiahao Meets Timor-Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao

Governor of Hunan Province Du Jiahao met in Changsha with Timor-Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao on the evening of April 11, 2014.

Du said that Hunan is willing to enhance cooperation and exchange with Timor-Leste East Timor in such sectors as economy and trade. The two sides shall expand the scale of bilateral trade and investment and boost cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, energy, etc.

Xanana Gusmao expressed his hope to expand and deepen the cooperation with Hunan in trade, tourism, agriculture, energy, and other sectors, to strengthen the cultural and educational exchange, and to set up the office of Timor-Leste in Changsha.

That afternoon, the Hunan (China)-Timor-Leste Investment Cooperation Fair was held in Changsha. The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of Timor-Leste signed the Development and Cooperation Agreement on the Industrial Park of Timor-Leste with Yuan Long Ping High-Tech Agriculture Co., Ltd. and China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group Ltd. The agreement includes the cooperation in grain production, economic crops, livestock breeding, fishery development, deep processing of agricultural products, etc., worth 50 million USD.
