It hopes to promote the “civilization” of counties in China, by taking the opportunity of the country’s new type of urbanization campaign. Changsha county in Hunan province stood out from more than 2,000 counties (cities) and got the nomination. A total of 154 cities were nominated, among which six are in Hunan. Starting in 2010, Changsha county was selected as one of the happiest cities (counties) in China for three consecutive years. It also got the honor of being called a permanent happy city (county) in China. The honor shows the harmonious development of the county and enhances Changsha’s profile for people outside the county.
