Hunan Promotes Vocational Education to Support Industrial Development

　　In order to practice the essence of 2014 National Working Conference on Vocational Education, the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government have included vocational education into overall planning of national economic and social development and issued a series of laws and regulations to promote vocational education, so as to better serve industrial development.

　　Up till now, Hunan has established 588 vocational colleges, which have played a significant role in serving local industrial development. These colleges have set up 55 majors in primary industry, 274 in secondary industry and 251 in tertiary industry, fitting in with the proportion of Hunan's primary, secondary and tertiary industries.

　　Vocational colleges are lack of characteristics and employment competitiveness due to traditional cultivation process of setting up majors, recruiting and cultivating students, and recommending jobs for sstudents. According to Guo Rongxue, director of Vocational and Adult Education Bureau of the Education Department of Hunan Province, colleges should follow development direction of vocational education via launching order-oriented talents cultivation mode and extensive cooperation with enterprises to meet their needs.
