First Yueyang 100-km Trailwalker Launched

　　The first Yueyang 100-km Trailwalker themed on “Filial Piety and Friendship” was launched in Zhangguying Village on May 21, 2016. Two thousand participants were expected to finish a 75-km walk between the village and Sheng’an Temple where they would pray for their elders.

　　Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yueyang County Committee and Head of the People’s Government of Yueyang County Zhang Zhongyu announced the opening of the event.

　　“The event is themed on filial piety and friendship, highlights the spirit of participation, persistence, joy and public benefit, and attaches importance to demonstrating the county’s natural scenery, ecological environment, history and culture as well as folk customs,” said Yu Feiyue, member of the standing committee of the CPC Yueyang County Committee and director of Publicity Department of Yueyang County. Yu hoped that the event will be a key link in the development of “tourism plus sports” and “tourism plus culture” of Yueyang County, and be an influential brand that will enhance friendship and promote communication.
