Residents in Changsha county will soon be able to enjoy the services of a fancy cultural center, the largest of its kind in Hunan province.

Decorative work on the Xingsha Cultural Center project, with a construction area of 93,500 square meters, was fully completed as of July 6.

The Xingsha Cultural Center houses a library, an archive, a cultural and art center and a public sports center. It is located to the north of East Kaiyuan Road and to the south of Wangxian Road, and lies right between Dongwu Road and Dongliu Road.

So far only the library, archive and part of the cultural and art center have been opened. The sports center, including a gym and indoor badminton, table tennis, and basketball courts will be open to the public soon. The Xingsha Cultural Center also includes a 350-square-meter stage for large-scale art performances.

"In the past, Xingsha Square was the only choice for major public events. But its location next to the county's main artery adds to traffic pressure as the parking space is too small," according to the head of the project. The issue should now be resolved by the 1,085 parking spaces of the cultural center's underground parking lot.
