An expert forum on the subject of cultural innovation was held in Changsha county on August 12.

The forum aimed to discuss and debate a range of ideas on how to boost the local culture industry. Changsha county boasts rich cultural legacy and is well known for a wide range of artisan products, such as Hunan embroidery, but the region is looking for new and innovative ways to broaden its appeal.

The forum gathered around 30 business representatives, as well as experts and scholars from a range of fields related to the culture industry. Zhou Qiuguang, a History and Culture professor at Hunan Normal University, was invited as the keynote speaker. Along with the other representatives, Zhou hosted a roundtable discussion on enhancing cultural innovation locally.

With the advent of the new normal economy in China, the forum hoped to outline the type of environment necessary for culture to flourish regionally.
