Hunan’s Postal and Telecommunication Service Turnover Exceeds 100 Bln Yuan

　　Hunan’s postal and telecommunication service achieved a total turnover of 134.786 billion yuan in 2016, up 50.8% year on year, announced by the Statistical Bureau of Hunan Province on February 14, 2017.

　　Telecommunication service played a primary role. The turnover of telecommunication service in 2016 reached 120.449 billion yuan, up 52.6%. Network service witnessed a strong growth momentum. By the end of 2016, the number of broadband network users has exceeded ten million, increasing by 1,545,300. Hunan’s 4G client number added up about 21 million in 2016, amounting to 33.9888 million by the end of the year. Mobile phone users reached 49.912 million, with the number growing slightly by 1.0%.

　　Along with e-commerce development, postal service surged in the province. The postal business of 2016 topped 14. 337 billion yuan, up 37.7% year on year, and realized a total revenue of 10.955 billion yuan, up 39.2%. A total of 486 million deliveries were made in 2016, making a revenue of 5.16 billion yuan, contributing to almost half of the total of postal business.
