Hunan’s GDP Ranking 2016 Released

　　The GDP ranking of Hunan’s 13 cities and one prefecture in 2016 was released by the Hunan Provincial Bureau of Statistics on Feb. 17, 2017. 12’s economic aggregate reached over 100 billion yuan, equaling that of 2015. Seven maintained a GDP growth rate of more than 8 percent, higher than the provincial average. Changsha, Xiangtan, and Chenzhou were among the fastest-growing.

　　Based on the statistics, Changsha’s GDP exceeded 900 billion yuan and ranked first in Hunan. The GDP of Yueyang surpassed 300 billion yuan for the first time, making it the second place across the province. GDP of Changde, Hengyang, Zhuzhou, and Chenzhou all amounted to over 200 billion yuan.

　　Moreover, the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster contributed the most to the province's economic growth. Last year, its total GDP reached 2.54 trillion yuan, up 8.4 percent year on year, contributing 77.9 percent to the province's economic growth and helping pull the GDP of the province increase by 6.2 percentage points.
