Int’l Women’s Day 2017: Free Entry for Women to Attractions

　　International Women's Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women's Day, is celebrated on March 8 every year. Many tourist attractions in Hunan will offer free entry or discounts for women on that day.

　　Recommended places include:

Wulingyuan Core Scenic Area

　　Wulingyuan Core Scenic Area is to open for free for women on March 8.

　　Notes:

　　1. Women can visit the following five scenic spots without paying admission tickets at Wulingyuan Core Scenic Area with valid documents (ID card, passport), including Wujiayu, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Zimugang, Tianzi Mountain, and Yangjiajie. Personal accident insurance fees and fares for taking Bailong Elevator, cableways in Tianzi Mountain, Huangshizai, Yangjiajie, and sightseeing electric bus in Ten-mile Gallery are not included in the free-entry policy.

　　2. A series of discounts will be offered to women in some hotels and B&B inns in Wulingyuan District.

Hongjiang Ancient Commercial Town

　　Women dressed in qipao, a traditional Chinese costume, can get a free entry to the scenic area.

Dongjiang Lake

　　1. Women will enjoy free admission on March 8 ( Car and boat fares excluded ).

　　2. Visitors born in the year of the Rooster enjoy a discount on admission fee of Route A.

　　Note: 50 yuan/person on March 8 for Route A (original price: 90 yuan/person)

　　Address: Zixing City, Chenzhou

　　How to get there: Changsha Railway Station—Chenzhou Railway Station—Chenzhou Bus Terminal—Liyujiang Town, Zixing—Dongjiang Dam

Huitang Hotspring

　　The first one hundred registered female visitors will enjoy hot spring bath for free.

Langshan Mountain

　　Route B includes Tianyi Lane, Chili Peak, Bajiao Zhai, Purple Cloud Cave

　　Admission fee for Route B: 130 yuan

　　1. Women who buy ticket for Route B on March 8 will enjoy a 50 percent discount.

　　2. Children not taller than 1.3 meters, seniors aged 70 and above, as well as the disabled and soldiers with authorized certificates can enter for free.

　　3. Certified tour guides, diplomatists and their families may gain free access or enjoy a discount.

Dawei Mountain

　　Women can visit the scenic area for free.

　　Address: Daweishan Town, Liuyang

　　How to get there: Changsha East Bus Station—Liuyang Long-distance Bus Station—east entrance of Dawei Mountain

　　Now thousands of mu of wild cherry blossom are in full bloom. The crimson, pink and white flowers look more enchanting in spring sunshine.

Zuolong Gorge

　　1. Free entry for women (insurance excluded)

　　2. Citizens aged 38 also enjoy a free access (insurance excluded).

　　Address: Guzhang County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture

　　How to get there: Changsha West Bus Station—Guzhang County

Wulongshan Grand Canyon

　　1. Free entry for women

　　2. Admission fee of Remi Cave since March 8 is 60 yuan for resident from Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and 40 yuan for resident from Longshan County.

　　Remi Cave, also called Wulong Cave, was named after its enchanting landscape. Shank and teeth fossils of vertebrate paleontology (300,000 to 400,000 years ago) were founded in the cave.

　　3. Free entry for children and seniors on Children’s Day and Chongyang Festival or Double Ninth Festival.
