Xiangjiang New Area’s Hi-tech Industry Generates 300 Bln Yuan in Output Value

  Xiangjiang New Area, the first state-level new area in central China, registered a stable performance with good momentum for growth in high-tech industry. Hunan Statistics Bureau, on April 4, announced that the output value of high and new technology industries of Xiangjiang New Area increased 10.9 percent year on year to 323.37 billion yuan in 2016. The value added in the sector was 78.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.7 percent and accounting for 27.4 percent of the total in Changsha.

  Key enterprises have played a vital role in supporting the development of the area. The area owned 244 high-tech enterprises with a registered capital of over 100 million yuan for each by 2016. These enterprises generated an output value of 312 billion yuan, up by 10.4 percent compared with the same period of 2015, and accounting for 96.5 percent of the total output value of the area. The output of Changsha ENN Gas and Greatwall Information Industry Co., Ltd. based in the area grew at a rate of over 34 percent. The two firms are high-tech representatives with an annual output value of 2 to 3 billion yuan.

  The corporate profits grow rapidly as industrial scale expands. In 2016, high-tech enterprises in the area reported 304.44 billion yuan in main business revenue, up 10.5 percent year on year. The total profit reached 19.55 billion yuan, up by 9.1 percent over the same period of last year.
