Closing Ceremony Held for International Youth Forum: Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Road (Changsha Session)

  The three-day International Youth Forum: Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Road (Changsha Session) lowers its curtain after all the agendas were completed on the morning of April 20, 2017.

  President of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations Bhatnagar Dhirendra expects the youths participated in the event could join in their own countries’ cultural creative activities and are committed to promoting cultural development.

  Programme Specialist for UNESCO Social and Human Sciences Eunice Geraldine Smith calls for taking culture as a binder that will link the countries along the route of the “Belt and Road” Initiativ. It is hoped to establish together a community keeping peaceful, understandable, and common progress.

  Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and Publicity Department Director Gao Shan delivers a speech on behalf of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government.

  The international youth representatives make heated discussions on creativity and heritage protection and preservation. And the “Changsha Declaration” was made before the closing ceremony.

Before the closing ceremony, representatives had heated discussions on creativity and heritage protection and preservation. In addition, they called for raised awareness among duty-bearers of the importance of youth full engagement in promoting peaceful coexistence and sustainable development. The “Changsha Declaration” was later made, and announced at the ceremony.

  Through field visits, face-to-face exchanges and forums in the past three days, 105 international guests and youth representatives have enhanced their understanding about Changsha, the three-thousand-year-old ancient city.
