Serbian Prime Minister Vucic Meets with Secretary Du Jiahao

  Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic meets with Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Du Jiahao.

  Hunan Province and Belgrade City sign a letter of intent on friendly partnership.

  Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met with Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Du Jiahao and his entourage at the Prime Minister’s Office in Belgrade on the morning of April 18, 2017.

  Vucic welcomed the visit of the delegation led by Secretary Du to Serbia. He noted that Serbia and China have kept long-time friendship, established enhanced political mutual trust, and achieved fruitful results in cooperation in various fields. Hunan is an important province in central China with steady and rapid economic and social development. It has unique advantages in rail transit, energy and mineral exploitation, residential industrialization, and engineering machinery. Hunan enterprises are welcome to invest in Serbia, he said, promising that the Serbian government will provide favorable environment for Hunan enterprises. “We sincerely expect to further strengthen cooperation with Hunan in science and technology, education, culture, and tourism to benefit the people of the two countries.” he said.

  Du thanked Prime Minister Vucic’s warm reception. He said that the two countries have kept close high-level exchanges in recent years, reaching new consensus on promoting bilateral cooperation. New achievements have been made in comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia. Serbia, as an important country in Central and Eastern Europe, is an important partner to China’s “Belt and Road” construction. “We hope the two sides will promote high-level visits, intergovernmental exchanges, and enterprises communication to constantly deepen cooperation in engineering machinery, rail transit, residential industrialization, and energy and mineral development.” Du said, “We believe both sides will enjoy mutual benefits and win-win results.”

  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Serbia Li Manchang and Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar attended the meeting.

  A letter of intent on friendly partnership between Hunan Province and Belgrade City was signed after the meeting.
