Hunan Government Delegation Learns about Poverty Alleviation in Guizhou

Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe led a delegation to study poverty alleviation work in Guizhou Province between May 22 and 23. The delegation received warm welcome from CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee Secretary and Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee Director Chen Miner. A meeting was later held.

　　Guizhou Vice Governor Sun Zhigang and other Hunan and Guizhou provincial leaders including Wu Lan, Xie Yong, Dai Daojin, Wangqun, Li Zaiyong, and Liu Yuankun also attended the meeting.

　　CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee Secretary and Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee Director Chen Min’er has introduced the Guizhou government’s recent measures to promote the strategies of “big poverty alleviation, big data, and big ecology”, and how it followed the decisions and plans made by the Central Government. “Guizhou and Hunan are neighbor provinces who have established intimate communication and cooperation relations for a long time. Both provinces are President Xi Jinping’s great concerns in regard to poverty alleviation.” Chen stated. “We expect to exchange poverty alleviation ideas and enhance in-depth communication and comprehensive collaboration with Hunan to achieve win-win results.” He remarked.

　　During his stay in Guizhou, Xu Dazhe and his entourage visited Tianping Town, Yuping County; Gaolouping Township, Wanshan District; and Kaide Community and Taiping Township, Jiangkou County in Tongren City. They learned about big data system on Yuping people’s livelihood, Jiufeng High-efficiency Agriculture Demonstration Park, Zhoutun resettlement site, and Zhaisha Dong minority village rural tourism project.

　　“We may deepen multi-level and all-round cooperation, and work together to shake off poverty.” suggested Hunan Governor Xu. “It’s important to further promote interconnected and shared infrastructure facilities and facilitate mutual market openness; enhance deeper cultural tourism and other industries integration; cooperate in regional poverty alleviation to improve the development environment of the poor Wuling Mountain areas; and improve the normal exchange mechanism established between the two provinces.

　　Guizhou Governor Sun Zhigang pointed out that both Guizhou and Hunan shoulder the important task of poverty reduction. He hoped both sides would comprehensively strengthen cooperation in such fields as poverty alleviation, industrial development, and education and medical care, to create a new chapter for mutual benefits and achievements.
