“Spiral Platform” of Meixi Lake Urban Island Opens

The spiral sightseeing platform on the Urban Island of Meixi Lake is open to the public on the afternoon of June 11, 2017. The artificial Urban Island is located at the west bank of Meixi Lake, covering a total area of 20,000 square meters, with a total investment of 180 million yuan. It has a catering service center, a spiral rooftop sightseeing platform, a passenger foot-bridge, and an overpass connecting the island and the main road. It has become one of the distinctive entertaining landmarks of the Xiangjiang New Area. The platform body is a 35-meter-high and a 80-meter-diameter pure steel construction of 7000 tons, and it is shaped spiral by 330 entirely different loop units and supported by 32 inclining columns.
