2016 Hunan News Awards Announced

　　The 2016 Hunan News Awards were announced on June 12. Three hundred and sixty-eight works were awarded, including 83 first prizes, 147 second prizes, and 138 third prizes. These were submitted by national central news agencies located in Hunan, and Hunan’s newspapers, radio and television stations, and news websites.

　　The 2016 Hunan News Awards ceremony was co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Journalists Association.

　　Hunan Daily was the big winner, winning 12 first prizes, 9 second prizes, and 11 third prizes.

　　Its first prize works were:

　　- Three mega-event reports were: the 11th Hunan Provincial CPC Congress; the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March; and “Belt and Road” initiative;

　　- "Sanxiang Commentary " Column;

　　- "Equipment Manufacturing Industry Becomes Hunan’s First Trillion Yuan Industry" News;

　　- A report on a program that provides free transportation for southern Hunan small farmers to carry their products to urban markets;

　　- A series comment;

　　- A series report;

　　- A supplement about a person's long march;

　　- An amusing cartoon about red packets;

　　- A news page layout;

　　- A set of photographic series.
