World Blood Donor Day Marked in Chenzhou

°°°°June 14 marked the 14th World Blood Donor Day. On the same day, Chenzhou Blood Center staff carried out voluntary unpaid blood donation campaign, calling upon the entire society to concern for and participate in it. More than 200 people participated in, donating 83,200 ml blood in total.

Background information:
World Blood Donor Day established in 2004, serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood.

It is one of eight official global public health campaigns marked by the World Health Organization (WHO), along with World Health Day, World Tuberculosis Day, World Immunization Week, World Malaria Day, World No Tobacco Day, World Hepatitis Day, and World AIDS Day. (Source:
