SGHEPEC to Construct World Record UHVDC Project

The Changji-Guquan 1,100 kV ultra-high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission project (Gansu Section) is under construction at Mengcun Village, Wugou Township, Zhenyuan County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province on Aug. 5, 2017. It is undertaken by the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Engineering Company (SGHEPEC). The project sets a new world record in terms of voltage level, transmission capacity and distance, and technical level. It starts from Zhundong (Changji), Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, passes through six provinces, and ends at Wannan (Guquan), Anhui Province. Upon completion in 2018, it will be 3,319.3 km in length with a HVDC capacity of 66 billion kWh to the central and eastern China. (Photo/ Tong Di)
