Luxury brands land at Changsha airport economic demonstration zone

  More international brands will land in Changsha Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, it was announced at the promotion event held in Changsha on Aug 22.

  Changsha Bailian Outlets Plaza, invested by Shanghai-based retail conglomerate Bailian Group, signed a cooperation framework agreement with 12 international luxury brands in various sectors, including Armani, Ferragamo, Hugo Boss, Coach, Michael Kors and Moschino.

  "Changsha Bailian Outlets Plaza is one of the major projects to arrive at the airport economic demonstration zone," introduced Zhang Zuolin, head of Changsha county.

  As strategic partners of the Bailian Outlets, the high-end brands are expected to draw more investment to the area.

  The 372-mu (24.8 hectares) shopping and entertainment plaza, with a total investment of 2 billion yuan ($300 million), is projected to open before Oct 1 next year.

  "Changsha county government will provide high-quality and efficient services to allow enterprises to enter the demonstration zone more quickly," Zhang said.

  Other projects in the zone, such as the Hunan SF Express E-commerce Industrial Park, Prologis Logistics Center at Changsha International Airport, China Unicom, and a Hunan branch of Okay Airways, will also create huge business opportunities.

  To attract more investment to boost the county's economic development, in the last year Changsha county government has raised capital totaling 13.7 billion yuan to facilitate the construction of infrastructure in the area, local media reported.

  Up to now, more than 10 projects have settled down in the newly developed zone, which are expected to create regional production of 100 billion yuan by 2020.
