  A photo exhibition kicked off on Oct 16 in the Changsha government building, offering viewers a look into the changes in the city over the last five years.

  Sponsored by the Changsha publicity bureau, the Changsha urban and rural planning bureau and Changsha Evening News, the shooting took about two months and captured more than 3,000 scenes and images from above the city.

  Forty selected pictures, divided into four themes, cover scenic spots, landmark buildings, gardens, and art and culture centers in the city, displaying Changsha`s social and economic achievements from an aerial perspective.

  Chen Fei, a photographer at Changsha Evening News, said that "You can't know how beautiful Changsha is and how many changes have taken place in the city until you fly over it."

  Chen has taken a helicopter to catch sights of the Hunan province capital three times before.

  This time, he has seen more green and found the urban planning more scientific, according to the photographer. "Changsha is more international."

  "The ever-changing Changsha surprises us and refreshes us every day," said Song Junxiang, speaking highly of Changsha's development while taking in the gorgeous photos. Song has worked and lived in Changsha for 40 some years.

  The exhibition will greet the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, commencing on Oct 18.
