National Gymnastics Championship Kicks off in Changsha

  The 2017 National Gymnastics Championship kicks off today at the gymnasium of Changsha Social Work College, Changsha.

  On 29 October, competitors from around China arrived in Changsha. There are 22 teams participating, including Beijing, Shanghai, Hunan, and Bayi teams. Olympic and world champions Zhang Chenglong, Lin Chaopan, and Fan Yilin will be present.

  Hunan has nine male and seven female gymnasts.

  On-site practice was open to observe all teams on 30 and 31 October. The men’s qualification kicks off today.

  In order to promote the championship among the people and popularize gymnastics knowledge, all events are open to all people free of charge. Free entrance tickets are available at the Gymnastics Center of the Hunan Sports Bureau.

  This championship is hosted by the Gymnastics Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China. A prize of 100,000 yuan will be given to the outstanding gymnasts.
