Children in Changsha county are expected to have more integrated education opportunities with the memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked between Changsha County Experimental Middle School (CCEMS) and Changsha WES Academy (CWA), on Jan 28.

This marks the formal establishment of friendly relations and cooperation between the two schools that sit next to each other in the region, separated merely by a wall.

Both sides will develop long-term mutually beneficial educational exchange programs and share some educational resources, providing a good opportunity for both sides to learn from each other, according to the MoU.

The CWA is the first and only international school in Central China's Hunan province that uses English as the primary language. The school has also been approved by the Ministry of Education.

CCEMS is a provincial key school which will draw experiences in international education and overseas exchanges from its partner.

On the same day, the CWA Principal Andrew Mark Britnell led a group of teachers and students to visit their neighbors and received a warm welcome.

Andrew expressed his wish that both schools could improve mutual teachers' professional development, enhance students' comprehensive capabilities and lay a foundation for the lifelong development of students through establishing a co-learning platform for both schools.

Such a constructive relationship will promote bilateral exchanges and visits at irregular intervals, as well as cooperation on curriculums.
