Executive Vice Governor Chen Xiangqun Meets Greek Guests

  CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and Executive Vice Governor, Chen Xiangqun met with a Greek delegation headed by Petros Tatoulis, governor of the Peloponnese Region and honorary president of the Chinese-Hellenic Association for Economic and Cultural Development (CHAECD) in Changsha on April 16.

  Chen welcomed the Greek guests and briefed them on Hunan’s economic development. He said that, “Hunan has a rich culture and history, and is strong in agriculture, manufacturing, science, and education. Recently, Hunan continues to maintain a good momentum of development. It has vigorously implemented an innovation-driven opening up strategy based on the advantages the region being included in China’s “One Belt and One Zone” strategy. Hunan is in a zone that joins the Yangtze River Open Economic Belt and the Coastal Open Economic Belt and a transitional zone from the east coast to the central and western areas. Economic and trade exchanges between Hunan and Greece have just begun. We hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, agriculture, and friendly-city relationships under the background of the sustainable development and the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Greece.”

  Governor Petros Tatoulis said, “Hunan’s culture industry has impressed me deeply, Hunan TV in particular. I welcome Hunan’s enterprises to come visit and invest in the Peloponnese Region of Greece. Through these exchanges and cooperation, the development of bilateral relations on economy and trade will be promoted.”
