Secretary Du Jiahao Meets with ArcelorMittal Group Guests

　　On the morning of June 20, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Secretary Du Jiahao met in Changsha with a delegation headed by Lakshmi Mittal, chairman and CEO of the global steel company, ArcelorMittal.

　　Secretary Du welcomed the guests’ revisit to Hunan. He said that, Hunan Valin Steel Group stopped being reorganized in 2017. After returning to the main business of iron and steel, it was fully affirmed by the capital market. The Valin ArcelorMittal Automotive Steel Co., Ltd. (VAMA) keeps making itself finer and stronger based on successful cooperation between the two sides. At present, Hunan automobile industry cluster construction has achieved initial success. The rapid development of key automobile manufacturing enterprises has provided vast space for VAMA to expand its market reach. Hunan will continue to deepen its long-term strategic cooperation with the ArcelorMittal group, constantly improve VAMA market share, and boost Hunan auto manufacturing industry. The group was expected to keep providing technical support to ensure VAMA auto sheet production in sync with the world's highest level, and to improve the quality and international competitiveness of the products.

　　Lakshmi Mittal showed his gratitude for the great support the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government has provided to VAMA. He said that since it was put into production in 2014, VAMA has continuously improved the quality of products, production efficiency and service level. It has become a successful model for the supply-side structural reform of the steel industry. Currently, the research and development, and production of the auto sheet industry is undergoing the developing process from quantitative to qualitative change. The group will provide technical and management support, promote VAMA to further improve the quality and production efficiency, and help Valin Steel to realize the supply of high quality products.
