On the evening of May 4, China’s first large-scale tourism performance on intangible cultural heritage, “Fantasy of Zhangjiajie”, was staged at the Zhangjiajie Theatre. With a total investment of 41 million yuan, the performance reflects Zhangjiajie's landscape, intangible cultural heritage and local folk custom. It consists of such five chapters as “Nirvana · Tianmen Mountain Opens”, “Heyday · Tusi (a system of appointing national minority hereditary headmen in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties) Manor”, “Blood-rain ·Southeastern Yongding”, “Lingering · Top of Zhangjiajie”, and “Dancing Trippingly · Mountains and Streams”. It comprehensively displays Xiangxi (western Hunan) culture via plots and stories in an original manner in about 80 minutes.
