Hunan Sees Big Reversal in Nonferrous Industry

　　Hunan's nonferrous industry showed a big reversal against the lasting slump in the global market. In the first seven months, the main business income, industrial added value and profit of the province's nonferrous industry increased by 6.03%, 9% and 5.14% year on year respectively. The main business income and profit from January to June ranked fifth and sixth nationwide.

　　The production of ten nonferrous metals fell in the past seven months. However, the decline in production and the increase of industrial added value in nonferrous industry are both the effects of industrial restructuring and the results of Hunan's nonferrous industry's move towards high-end, green, digital and international features.

　　Hunan's nonferrous industry is getting rid of high energy consumption and heavy pollution. In the first half of the year, the energy consumption of the nonferrous companies above designated size in the province dropped by 4.4%. Specifically, the energy used in non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry decreased by 3.4%, while its industrial added valued increased by 10.6% with 2.8 percentage points higher than that of the province's six high energy-consuming industries.
