The 11th China (Changsha) International Auto Expo was launched on Sept. 8. It will also debut at the Hunan International Conference & Exhibition Center in Changsha on Dec. 10. It is estimated that over 700 vehicles from more than 20 countries will be displayed at the Expo.

The auto industry professionals forecast the central regions of China is growing into a new main market for automobile businesses considering that the overall development of Chinese auto market has been slow down and the trend of purchase restrictions in the first-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

As a core market in central China, Hunan has attracted global automobile producers in recent years. The Shanghai Wolkswagen Changsha Factory was officially put into operation this May, and GAC Fiat and GAC Mitsubishi have established production bases in Changsha. Beyond that, GM plans to develop 700 dealers for Chevrolet and Buick cars in central and western regions before 2017.

The Changsha International Auto Expo, co-hosted by the Changsha Municipal People’s Government and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, has witnessed ten-year development and was reputed as “an indicator of the automobile market in central China”. Furthermore, it has become the only A-class auto expo in central China with the official deployment and supports from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
