Foreigners Experience Traditional Wedding of Tujia Ethnic Group in Yuanling

　　The “newly-weds” show their marriage certificates issued based on Tusi system (Tusi was a tribal leader. And the system has been set up 1000 years ago).

　　On Sept. 12, foreign guests from 17 countries experienced the traditional wedding of Tujia ethnic group at the 3rd Outdoor Sports Festival in Yuanling.

　　Background information:

　　From September 11 to 13, 2015, Yuanling County of Huaihua hosted three grand tourism festivals featuring local customs and culture, namely, the 15th China (Hunan) Tourism Cultural Festival Huaihua festivities, the 5th Huaihua "Ancient City, Ancient Town and Ancient Village" Cultural Tourism Festival and the 3rd Hunan (Yuanling) Outdoor Sports Festival.

　　Nine featured activities to entertain visitors included:

　　Appreciating the folk songs of western Hunan,

　　Hiking across crystal clear Jinwan River,

　　Participating in the water-splashing festival of Miao ethnic group,

　　Experiencing Tujia traditional wedding on Youshui River,

　　Exploring Fangzhu Stream,

　　Beach volleyball and tug-of-war contest,

　　Campfire party on the beach with live DJ performance,

　　Beach tent festival,

　　High discount for the admission fee to be offered to five representative scenic spots in Yuanling County: Fenghuang Mountain, Longxing Teaching Temple, Eryou Mountain, Fengtan Dam, Youshui River Folkloric Gallery
