Hunan Sees 37 Mln Tourist Arrivals During Golden Week

　　During the week-long National Day holiday, Hunan has received 37 million tourist arrivals and its tourism revenue exceeded 20 billion yuan for the first time, both up nearly 8% from the same period of 2014. The number of inbound and outbound tourists has increased by 20.3%.

　　Volunteer service has become a highlight of this golden week holiday. Over 12,000 volunteers contributed to providing services for tourists at major scenic areas, hotels, restaurants and tourist centers throughout the province.

　　This year’s newly-built and highly-promoted scenic areas with distinct local features and high quality were favored by tourists, including the world heritage site of Laosicheng site in Yongshun County, China’s first glass-made dangling bridge in Pingjiang County and the Light Festival in Changde City.

　　Featured tourism projects such as red tourism, ecotourism and folk culture tourism were also very popular during the seven-day holiday. Beyond that, over 70% of the provincial total tourists have chosen driving tour this year.
