An inspection delegation of China Infrastructure (Energy) Business Enterprises initiated by Hunan’s Sany Group visited India since Oct. 14. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese Ambassador to India Le Yucheng met the delegation in New Delhi respectively. During the inspection, Chinese enterprises and the Government of India conducted in-depth discussions and reached agreements on investment projects in such fields as energy, infrastructure construction and housing industrialization. Sany Group submitted an investment commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeting development of 2,000 mega watt of renewable energy projects worth USD 3 billion (Rs 20,000 crore) for the period 2016-2020. Besides generating 4.8 TWh (terawatt-hours) of power annually, these projects will create 1,000 job opportunities and prevent carbon emissions of around 3.6 million tonnes per year.
