Tunneling Shield Machine Rolls off Production Line

The first China-made railway tunneling shield machine rolled off production line in Changsha on Nov. 15. With a diameter of 8.8 meters and a total length of 100 meters, the tunneling shield machine is 200 million yuan cheaper than the imported one. Co-developed by the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and the China Railway 16th Bureau Group Co., Ltd, the China-made equipment reflects the country’s pioneering breakthrough in key technical research and application of large-diameter tunneling machine.
