How much can change in 30 years? A lot if you look at these aerial photos of Changsha, the capital city of Hunan province. The photos compare the cityscape in the 1980s with that of today and show the great changes that have occurred over the years.

All the old photos were provided to Changsha Evening News by Xie Jinting, a senior photographer who is now in his 70s.

A photo taken on Jan 25, 2016 shows a full view of the Changsha Binjiang Cultural Park at the confluence of Liuyang and Xiangjiang rivers. Now home to the city's urban planning exhibition hall, a library, museum and concert hall, the park has become an ideal leisure spot for local residents. [Photo / Changsha Evening News]

A staggering difference can be seen in a file photo from July, 1984, with not a skyscraper in sight. The tallest building back then is also under construction (bottom right). The rest of buildings are typical 1950s style architecture. [Photo / Changsha Evening News]
