International Women's Day 2016 celebrated in Hunan

　　Deputy to the National People’s Congress, Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Xu Shousheng sent best wishes to female deputies and members from Hunan attending the annual “two sessions” in Beijing and all women across Hunan in an interview in Beijing on Mar. 7.

　　Secretary Xu hoped to help Hunan people live a better-off life while fulfilling the tasks set for the 13th Five-Year Plan.

 Yao People Celebrate Women’s Day in Yongzhou

　　Women from a Yao village held a tug of war to celebrate the coming international Women’s Day on Mar. 6, 2016. Located in Jiangyong County of Yongzhou City, the village is among China’s famous historical and cultural villages.

　　On that day afternoon, women in the village sang and danced merrily to express their joy and send best wishes to all women living there.

Cheongsam Show before Women’s Day

　　A cheongsam (chi-pao) show was held to demonstrate the unique charm of the traditional Chinese costume at Changsha Xingchen International Art Center on the afternoon of Mar. 7.

　　On the same day, females from all walks of life were also invited to attend a publicity art salon where they exchanged views on cheongsam and Nvshu (the only existing female characters in the world). The salon was hosted by the Xiaoxiang Ailian Nvshu Culture Research Institute.
