Changsha Shengyan Inkstone Museum, the first of its kind in Hunan, opened to the public for free on May 18. More than 1,500 Chinese inkstones manufactured over the past 1,000 years are on display at the 2,000-sqm Museum. Four categories attracted much attention including Gaoguinkstones, four famous inkstones (Duan inktones, She inkstones, Taohe inkstones and Chengni inkstones), celebrities’ inkstones and Hunan-made inkstones.
