Huxiang Cultural Heritage Publicity Month, themed with “integrating cultural heritage into modern life”, will be launched to mark China’s 11th Cultural Heritage Day that falls on June 11, 2016. The event is co-organized by the Cyberspace Administration of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture, and the Cultural Heritage Bureau of Hunan. The event will consist of four parts: Part 1: Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Tujia, Miao, and Dong people’s "Lanmen wine" (greeting custom for local people to welcome distinguished guests); Changde silk string Date: June 11 Venue: Cultural Pavilion of Hunan Province Part 2: Traditional Handicrafts Integrated into Modern Life: Tujia Brocade and Xiang Embroidery Exhibition Date: June 11-June 17 Venue: Art Gallery of Cultural Pavilion of Hunan Province Creative Show of Intangible Cultural Heritage Date: June 16 evening Venue: Hunan Concert Hall Part 3: Traditional Operas Performances Part 4: Publicity of Cultural Relics Preservation First Hunan Cultural Relics Value Understanding and Publicity Contest; Opening Ceremony of Lixian Chengtoushan National Archaeological Park Beyond that, the Measures of Hunan Province on Implementing Intangible Cultural Heritage Law of the People’s Republic of China will be officially issued on July 1, 2016. It is Hunan’s first local regulation on cultural circle, marking that Hunan’s administration of intangible cultural heritage preservation has entered into the law-based era.
