Hunan Art Troupe to Visit Germany, UK

A Hunan art troupe, jointly organized by the Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Changde Municipal People’s Government, set out on August 25 for Germany and the U.K. to give a one-week performance and cultural and art exchange.

It is delegated by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, to mark the 44th anniversary of the establishment of China-Germany and China-UK diplomatic relations.

Prestigious artists around the province were included in this troupe, such as, national class-A performer Long Lanxiang from the Hunan Flower-drum Opera Protection and Heritage Center; prominent acrobats Zhu Yi and Li Qun; national class-A performer Peng Ling from Changde Han Opera Qaoqiang Protection Center; and famous Hunan-born Erhu player Zhang Yinyue.

In recent years, the Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese has integrated resources of overseas Chinese, and given full play of its advantages, to develop friendly relations and promote cultural exchange overseas. The Federation, joining hands with municipal governments and relevant institutions, selected brilliant performances and organized visiting art troupe ever year, for the “Enchanting China, Charming Hunan” artistic shows overseas.

Beginning in 2008, the Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese has organized art troupes to perform in nearly 30 countries and regions, including Austria, U.K., the U.S.A, Southeast Asia, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. More than 40 shows have been staged, covering over 200,000 audiences.

Next, the “Enchanting China, Charming Hunan” series will expand to more fields, like calligraphy, photography, and Hunan cuisine and tea culture, so as to comprehensively introduce Hunan to the world.
