China’s Smallest-diameter Open-type Hard Rock TBM

China’s first smallest-diameter open-type hard rock tunnel boring machine (TBM) rolled off the production line in Changsha on January 14, 2017.

　　This TBM was developed by the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. owning proprietary intellectual property rights. It was custom-tailored for the water resource allocation projects in northern Hubei province, with a diameter of 4 meters, length of 290 meters, and weight of 750 tons. The total installed capacity reached 2400 KW.
