The first regular cargo train linking Hunan Province and Belarus officially entered service on Jan. 18, 2017, whose 41 containers were fully loaded with electronic products, garments and shoes, fiber optic cables, hardware, and machinery parts of Hunan Province. The railway departs in Xianing Freight Yard of Changsha, crosses the northward border into Mongolia, and passes through China-Mongolia-Russia Railway before reaching its terminus in Belarus’ Minsk in 13 days.

This is the fifth new line of “Hunan-Europe Express Line”, following those to Hamburg (Duisburg), Warsaw, Moscow, and Tashkent. After the Spring Festival, it will officially be put into regular operation. The regular cargo train to Minsk will be served as a bridge of economic and trading exchanges between Hunan and Belarus. From January to December 2016, a total of 173 thousand tons of imported and exported goods were delivered through the “Hunan-Europe Express Line”, with a total value of 493 million USD. This year, an International Land Port Center of the “Hunan-Europe Express Line” will be established based on Xianing Freight Yard, the cargo train to Minsk starts regular operation, and branch line from Shilong (Guangdong) to Changsha and the Hunan-ASEAN Express Line (Hunan to Vietnam’s Hanoi) were also planned to be opened.
