  An Exhibition of Qi Baishi Art is being held at the Li Zijian Art Museum between March 31 and May 31, 2018. It features 93 of his original works from different periods. Most are being displayed to the public for the first time. Related academic lectures will be arranged during the period.

  It is the first time in nearly 50 years that an exhibition of this size and quality has happened.

  Qi Baishi is one of China's premier 20th Century painters. He was born to a Xiangtan, Hunan, peasant family in 1864. In 1953, he was honored as a “People's Artist” by the Ministry of Culture of PRC. In 1956, the World Peace Council (WPC) bestowed its International Peace Award on Qi Baishi. In 1963, Qi was elected as one of the world's cultural celebrities by WPC.
