Xu and Du Attend 60th Anniversary of National University of Defense Technology

Rednet (Changsha): National University of Defense Technology had its 60th anniversary on September 1, Changsha , Hunan Province. The school celebrated this special day with simple ceremony for both the anniversary and for welcoming students. Hunan Provincial leaders attended the ceremony and expressed their congratulations to NUDT Xu Shousheng, the secretary of Hunan CPC and director of the committee of Hunan People's congress, Du Jiahao , Du Jiahao, Hunan governor and deputy secertary of CPC, Chen Qiufa, Chairman of CPPCC.

Other provincial leaders attended the ceremony, whose are Li Youxin, Yi Lianhong, and Jia Longwu, political commissar of Hunan People's Armed Police Corps, and Zhang Yaoxue , president of Central South University , attended also attended the ceremony.

Over the past 60 years, NUDT has developed advanced teleology for creating numerous technological wonders in China including following: Beidou satellite navigation system has the breakthrough of foreign monopoly on technology; from Tianhe I to Tianhe II , NUDT have won the title of NO.1 World Supercomputer twice within three years. NUDT have achieved significant reaches as following: the first radar automatic target recognition system in China, China 's first ring laser , China 's first two-legged walking robot , China 's first core routers for high-speed information demonstration network, the first test Line for an autonomous maglev in China , China's highest precision super-nano engineering , the world's highest-speed unmanned vehicles… According to statistics, the school has made more than 6000 scientific research in total in past 60 years. Only since the "Eleventh Five-Year Project", the school has worked on 2971 including projects for long-term and most significant national projects, for defense equipments, for model development projects , the key technology research projects , and basic research projects .
