World’s 2nd 8-inch IGBT Chip Production Line in Zhuzhou

　　It was revealed on June 20 that with an investment of 1.5 billion yuan from CSR, the production base of IGBT chip, which is a key technology considered to be the "Pearl on the crown" of the modern current converting industry, was completed and will be put into operation. It is the first domestic and also world's second professional 8-inch IGBT chip production line.

　　Annual output of the first phase will reach 120,000 pieces of 8-inch IGBT chips and 1 million pieces of IGBT modules. It indicates that China will achieve the domestication of IGBT chips production and break the monopoly of foreign enterprises in high-end IGBT chip technology.

　　IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) is a kind of power electronic device for the realization of electrical energy conversion and control.

　　Executive Director and General Manager of CSR Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd. Ding Rongjun introduced that CSR has made a breakthrough in the production line in terms of technique solution, processing approach, selection of manufacturing equipment and product research and development.
