Pingjiang: half water, half flame

　　“蓝墨水的上游是汨罗江”，汨罗江的源头是平江。因为汨罗江是屈原、杜甫归依处，所以平江也被誉为中华文化的源头。

　　Miluo River is originated from Pingjiang where Qu Yuan and Du Pu two most famous poets in Chinese history lived; therefore, Pingjiang is regarded as the source of the Chinese culture.

　　The Miluo River ( 汨罗江; pinyin: Mìluójiāng ), an important river in the Dongting Lake watershed, is famous as the location of the ritual suicide in 278 BC of Qu Yuan, a poet of Chu state during the Warring States period, in protest against the corruption of the era.

　　Originating in Xiushui County of Jiangxi province, the Miluo river is about 400 kilometres (250 mi) long. It passes Pingjiang county in Hunan and empties into Dongting Lake in Miluo city. The river is formed by the confluence of the Mi and Luo rivers, of which the Mi river is the main branch. The two rivers become the Miluo river after joining in Daqiuwan (大丘湾), Miluo city.

　　平江县不大，品质优良的旅游目的地、古风犹存的遗址却很多。这里的景点大致可以分为两种风格：以玩水、避暑、亲子游为特色的漂流、峡谷，和以红色文化为主的革命遗迹。清水和火焰，同时在这片土地上流淌。

　　Pingjiang County is quite small, but with high quality tourist destinations and sites of ancient views. The attractions of sites can be divided into two styles: the sites beside water, such as fun rafting and canyon; the sites with remains of culture , such as red revolution . Water and flame are harmoniously combined together.

　　有人说，没参观平江起义旧址，就枉去了平江参观。可见平江起义旧址在平江县的旅游开发，特别是红色旅游开发中的地位与作用。1988年，该旧址被评为全国重点文物保护单位，2001年被授予全国爱国主义教育示范基地称号。

　　It is said that no visiting to the site of Pingjiang Uprising Museum is not the arrival of Pingjiang . It has the leading role in particular in Red tourism development. In 1988, the site was named a national protection units of cultural relics , and in 2001 , it was awarded the title of national patriotism education demonstration base.

　　早上8：30从长沙出发，在星沙上长浏高速公路，在洞阳转平汝高速公路，向平江方向行驶，大约2小时，大概10：30可抵达白寺村。
