Xu Shousheng: to ensure work of flood control with scientific planning

       Rednet (Chenzhou City): Xu Shousheng, secretary of Hunan Provincial committee of CPC and director of committee of Hunan NPC, attended a meeting for the work of flood control in mountain area, urban and reservoirs, May 18, in Linwu County of Chenzhou City. Xu watched the drills of emergency transfers of flooding area, rescuing practice in reservoirs, and then he visited constructions and drainages for flood control. He stressed that the work of flood control should prevent big floods and rescue the mass, with scientific planning and methods, with the highest degree of vigilance and with the responsibility for dealing emergencies.
 
      Xu pointed out that Hunan is a province with numerous water faculties, and flooding usual happens in Hunan. The work of flood control is a vital event in Hunan.   Government's officials should deeply understand the important strategies of flood control and water control from Central Government in the new period. Officials should firmly grasp the chances of flood control with accurate grasps of fundamental patterns and characteristics of floods in Hunan, at all times and in all circumstances.
 
       Xu stressed that the key of flood control and disaster reduction lays on well-organized work, and implement them effectively, will face accountability.
