Governor Du: to promote aquatic economy with better ecosystem

Rednet (Changde): Du Jiahao, Governor of Hunan Province and deputy secretary of the committee of Hunan CPC, hosted the first meeting of the leading officials of Dongting Lake Ecological Economic Zone, in Changde City. He stressed to accelerate the construction of the lake economic region by the core of promoting economy of Dongting Lake with ecological environment, with a focus on aquatic industry around the lake, in order to build a more beautiful and rich economic zone.

After listening reports on the projects and work of promoting Dongting lake area of 2014, Du said that Dongting Lake has been a well-known brand of Hunan province which has played important roles on food production, ecosystem protection, flood control, so that it has been called as Mother Lake of Hunan province. At present, Dongting Lake region has entered a new stage of development with a series of major development opportunities, due to the construction of the Yangtze River economic belt joining into national strategies of China.
