Hunan Gets Huge National Fund for Heavy Metal Pollution Control

The central government has earmarked some 2.8 billion yuan to help 30 cities tackle heavy metal pollution. A third of the beneficiaries are from Hunan, including Changde, Loudi, Zhangjiajie, Changsha and other seven cities.

The central authorities' financial push is targeted at expediting control of heavy metal pollution for the next three years, and 2.79315 billion yuan has been in place for 2015. Financial support to cities with unsatisfactory pollution control results in 2014 will be reduced.
