Taoyuan Embroidery Collector Holds an Exhibition at Home

Taoyuan County’s embroidery collector Zhang Zhong held an embroidery exhibition of more than 600 pieces of Taoyuan embroidery artworks collected in the past 20 years at home to mark China’s 11th Culture Heritage Day on June 11, 2016. Taoyuan Embroidery, reputed as the “Soul of Hunan Embroidery”, is included on the protection list of Changde municipal-level intangible cultural heritage items.

The reason for Zhang to spend such a great deal of time and money on these collections was to call for more people to save, protect and inherit the ancient Taoyuan Embroidery technique.
