Chinese knot footbridge in Changsha to be opened in 2016

Rednet (Changsha): On September 29, Chinese Knot Footbridge located at Changsha Meixi Lake International New City smoothly passes the acceptance and is expected to be opened to the public in 2016.

The footbridge has three footpaths and five knots, 183.95 meters long, 11.5 meters wide and about 24 meters high. With longspan steel structure, it connects Meiling Park and Yinxing Park for citizens’ leisure walk.

The footbridge is co-designed by Dutch Next Architectural Firm and Chinese designers, whose design inspiration comes from the classic mobius strip and Chinese traditional knot. The footbridge was appraised as one of World’s Top 10 Sexy Buildings by CNN in 2014 for the design.

红网长沙9月29日讯（时刻新闻记者 刘玉先 实习生 周王宁馨）9月29日，位于长沙梅溪湖国际新城的“中国结”步行桥顺利通过预验收，预计年内将正式向市民开放。

步行桥共设有3条步行道、5个节点，长183.95米，总宽11.5米，高约24米，采用大跨度钢铁结构，连接梅岭公园与银杏公园，可供市民休闲、步行。

步行桥由荷兰Next建筑事务所和中国设计师共同设计，桥体的设计灵感源于经典的魔比斯环与中国传统手工工艺中国结，于2014年被美国CNN评选为十大“世界最性感建筑”之一。
