Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress Wang Kemin met in Changsha with Michael Shure, president and CEO of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) of Ontario, Canada, who came here to attend the International Conference on "Big Data and Information Analysis".

Wang welcomed the guests and briefed on the basic conditions of Hunan Province. He introduced that Hunan’s pharmaceutical industry has developed rapidly in recent years, so do the province’s medical and healthcare industries. Both sides have extensive cooperation and communication potentials in such fields as health care and big data on medical services. Hunan is willing to strengthen collaboration with the Ontario counterparts, to better serve and satisfy its people, he added.

"This is my first visit to China," Michael Shure said, "and what impressed me the most is its rapid development of infrastructure and scientific research.” Hunan and Ontario are now facing the common challenges in providing high-quality health care services to the people, he noted, expecting that both sides will learn from each other and work together to promote the progress on human health via big data application and information analysis.
