Yi and his delegation met with Acting Mayor and MP of Victoria City Charlayne Thornton-Joe on Oct. 19, to discuss further friendly exchanges and cooperation. On Oct. 21, they attended the China (Changsha) - Canada (Calgary) Investment Promotion Conference held in Calgary City, and witnessed the signing of framework agreements between Sunward and AVMAX, and Yonker and MC2 respectively. According to the agreement, the acquisition between Sunward and AVMAX, the largest regional aircraft maintenance and repair company in North America will be phased; while Yonker, after finishing M & A process with MC2, a professional soil remediation company famous for its design, engineering, management, equipment R & D and production, is planning to build a new equipment manufacturing base in Changsha.
"In the future, Changsha will be more open to the world to promote friendly communication and cooperation in a more international manner." Yi said. It now aims to be built into a central city of China featuring a national intelligent manufacturing center, a national innovation center, and a national transportation and logistics center in the future. Departments at all levels of the city will further optimize services to support enterprises to grow bigger and stronger, and help more high-quality enterprises "go global”, he added.
