　　吊脚楼是米溪村常见的一种民居建筑。一般依山而建，成群分布，错落有致，既古朴自然，又雄奇壮观。米溪村是土家、苗家交界的地区，有着独特的民族和民俗文化，以至于连当地人都不太知道自己是土家族，还是苗族。他们说土家族的语言，但听得懂苗家人的乡话；他们过土家人的调年节，社巴节，吃薪节，也去苗家的赶年场，赶边边场，摘樱桃；大多数老辈人都会唱土家山歌，也会苗家人的飞歌传情，在边边场谈情歌会；他们一方面赶阳朝的土家溪州场做物质交换，一方面去葫芦寨赶苗家盛大年场看热闹，或者参与赶秋，樱桃会，年轻人还会适时带得苗家美人归，民族世代融合，家族亲戚交往，哪分得清是土家还是苗族？

　　Stilts are commen residential buildings distributed with groups by the mountains in Mixi Village, with the simple and natural style, which are magnificent view in Mixi Village. Located on the junction of area of Tujia and Miao ethnic minority groups, it has a unique ethnic and folk culture that even the residents themselves are not sure that they are Tujia or Miao ethnic minority groups. They speaks in Tujia dialect and live in Tujia customswith understanding of Miao dialect.
