Huang Lanxiang Inspects Dongting Lake Ecological and Economic Zone

　　Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Huang Lanxiang led a group to inspect ecological treatment of Dongting Lake in Yueyang City from Feb. 13 to 14, 2017. Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, and Director of the China Democratic League Hunan Provincial Committee Yang Weigang joined in the tour.

　　On the afternoon of February 14, Huang and her entourage inspected the Dongting Lake first by ship after boarding at Baling Square Port. They later visited Yueyang Economic Technological Development Zone, Nanhu New Area, Chenglingji New Port Area, Yunxi Green Chemical Industrial Park, and Yueyang County, to learn about the construction of Dongting Lake ecological and economic zone. Huang talked with local business executives to get detailed information on production and operation status, as well as innovation and environmental protection technology.

　　Hunang noted that it is quite important for local governments of Yueyang to focus both on development and ecological management, for the early realization of the goal in Dongting Lake Ecological and Economic Zone of “making significant progress in ecological civilization construction and achieving comprehensive growth by 2020”.

　　Leaders of all of the democratic parties, Hunan Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the non-partisans should continue carrying out democratic supervision on Dongting Lake's ecological development and environmental protection, and making suggestions on further promoting its water resources, water environment, and water ecological protection, to contribute more to the building of Dongting Lake Ecological and Economic Zone into a more beautiful and richer great lakes economic zone, she added.
